LeTourneau Offshore Products / Parts Calendar

LeTourneau Offshore Products, manufacturer of the world’s first offshore jack-up rig, needed to increase awareness of their aftermarket parts offering to the marketplace.

Triad developed a 13-month calendar to be distributed at the industry’s largest trade show, Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), with the “parts” theme. Rather than take an expected approach by featuring photos of the equipment, Triad decided to design a calendar recipients might actually show off on their walls or desks: a calendar that features close up black and white photos, depicting a very graphic representation of the rig parts. The calendar became an “art” piece, celebrating the offshore industry, rather than simply another calendar. This contemporary graphic approach caught the attention of professionals in the industry, making this piece one that was in high demand.

Global Drilling Support Web Site

A newly formed company, Globlal Drilling Support (GDS) needed a Web presence to help communicate to the oil and gas industry their unique expertise and specialization in top drive repair, rebuild, and refurbishment.

Triad proposed a site that featured striking photography, easy navigation, and content outlining the company’s specific offerings. The graphic nature of the Web site helps communicate the passion the company owners have for the energy industry, and keeps the information simple, and quick to find. In addition, the site is regularly updated as the company’s offerings evolve, and new markets are developed.

Alcoa Oil and Gas Direct Mail Effort

To help generate qualified leads in the rapidly growing extended reach and horizontal drilling markets, Alcoa Oil and Gas needed an attention-getting, targeted marketing effort. The company needed to increase interest and awareness for their advanced Aluminum Alloy Drill Pipe, with the ultimate goal to result in generation of sales leads.

In response, Triad developed a database and direct mail piece that would clearly stand out in the bulk of mail delivered daily to prospects: a 3-D box with the message “Kick Start Your ERD Operations.” The box contained an “aluminum” coffee travel mug with the Alcoa Oil and Gas logo, as well as a uniquely designed brochure offering an overview of the benefits of Alcoa Aluminum Alloy Drill Pipe.

Filling a Need: AXON Energy Products

AXON Energy Products operates within a space occupied by oil and gas equipment companies that have become household names, primarily because they’ve been in business for decades: in particular, National Oilwell Varco.

As customers had become increasingly dissatisfied with the level of customer service provided by large companies such as NOV, it was clear the market was ready for an alternative; AXON. With an entrepreneurial foundation and a “get it done” culture, AXON was poised to provide exactly what the marketplace needs right now, and going forward.

The AXON website’s objective was to communicate this difference, and did so via a unique website design, featuring bold industry graphics and straightforward, no-nonsense copy.

Forge USA Machine Shop Tour Video

“If we can’t bring them to the machine shop, we’ll bring the machine shop to them,” was the inspiration for a quick-turn video production for Triad client Forge USA.

The company is a producer of large scale, open-die forgings for a wide range of industries, and they needed to showcase their brand new, state-of-the-art machining facility to prospective customers – a real competitive difference for the company. With timing and logistics preventing a physical tour of the impressive new facility, the challenge became how to impress upon their prospects – who were to arrive at Forge USA headquarters within days – the quality and scope of their machining operation’s capabilities.

Triad wrote, planned, and directed the video that conducted the walk-through for Forge USA. Featuring company CEO and other employees, the friendly approach brought a distinct personality to an otherwise ordinary corporate video. The final cut was in the hands of Forge USA well before their guests arrived and played a valuable role in the success of their new business presentation.

Dick & Jane Run a Promotion

Triad client SCA Promotions launched a lead generation initiative targeting local advertising agencies, communicating their expertise in contest promotion management.

To make an impact on “creative types” in ad agencies, the effort needed to be clearly distinct and different. Capitalizing on the fact that SCA handles all the details of a promotion, no matter how large or small, making the process ultimately simple, Triad developed the idea of a “primer” on how to run a successful promotion.

The idea took shape in the form of a tongue-in-cheek take off on the classic “Dick and Jane” reader series for children, helping to convey the “simple” aspect of it all. The story follows an ad agency creative director (Jane) and account supervisor (Dick), representative of SCA’s target audience, as they discover how easy running a promotion is when partnering with SCA.
